A nice article on burning calories from your favourite snacks. It would be more informative had they included healthy food for comparison.

Some companies claim that their products would lower people’s cholesterol level. Quaker Oats lays out some healthy foods that would serve (.. yum yum …) this purpose.
Is this claim legit?
FDA has now take heart of Cheerios claims of the cereal’s consumption ability to lower cholesterol level and heart disease risks).
My take: There could be some properties of the food that lowers people’s cholesterol level directly. I personally think that many (if not all) of these foods are healthy that when they are consumed tend to make people full (with these healthy food) that they don’t feel like eating other foods, including junk food.

Water consumption per day per person in the US:
14 x
From CDC website:
In 2000, the United States alone used 408 billion gallons of water per day (1). This is the equivalent of approximately 1400 gallons of water per day for every man, woman, and child—and that is enough water to fill 14 standard-size bathtubs (2)! This amount includes water use that is direct (drinking, bathing, flushing the toilet, etc.) and indirect (watering the lawn, washing the car, commercial and industrial use, etc).
